The vast reserves of extra-heavy crude oil in eastern Venezuela are waiting for the introduction of low-cost capital technologies to make them available to the oil market. Aquaconversion is a catalytic steam conversion process capable of improving crude oil by transferring hydrogen from water. Aquaconversion transforms a crude of 8 degrees of extra-heavy gravity into synthetic crude of 16 degrees and decreases the viscosity, leaving the diluent free for commercialization
