ASEPA, the Spanish Association of Automotive Professionals, presented in the Superior Technical School of Industrial Engineering last 4th July 2018 the report “Automobile in the Sustainable Mobility”.
The automobile constitutes a key element in our society, synonym of freedom of movement and life quality. Related to its use, there are nowadays some vital issues that need to be addressed such as climate change, pollutant emissions reduction, the challenge of sustainable mobility, energy transition, etc.
This report is a very valuable approach to the current problems of the automotive sector, organized over 5 key pillars or “thesis” that, for summarizing, are:
- Automobile will be key in the future mobility.
- Energy availability could restrict the mobility in the medium term
- Internal combustion engines will continue to be indispensable.
- The electric vehicle is unstoppable coming; however, they are not a miracle solution in the short term
- User should compromise more deeply with the efficient use of the vehicles
