The P&V21 Talk: “International Conference on Industrial Fluid & Process Technologies” was held October 28, within the framework of +Industry 2021, the largest meeting point dedicated to Smart Manufacturing in the country, organized by the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC). The scientific secretary of the conference has been led by Ideas2Invoices (I2I), for the second time after the P&V 2019 conference, for which we thank the BEC for the renewed trust placed in I2I.
At the Conference, aspects related to the analysis of the current situation and trends in the process industries were discussed, as well as the challenges and innovative solutions for improving the environment, efficiency, reliability and safety in these industries. Likewise, relevant aspects such as the energy transition, circularity or digital transformation as a vector of competitive advantage in the industry were reviewed.
In addition, the challenges and opportunities in Engineering projects (EPC) towards a cycle change were analyzed. The new reality for EPC companies implies, among other factors, new contracting models, different clients, great variety and flexibility in the scope and cost of projects, new competitors, greater risks; This forces companies to seek new and more efficient execution procedures, where the execution period becomes a key variable, as well as financing and its leverage with public structural funds.
To address the objectives set out above, the Conference had top-level expert professionals, representing leading companies and organizations in their sector, such as: Boston Consulting Group, BP, Ghenova, IDOM, Navec, Repsol, Technip Energies and Técnicas Reunidas.
From I2I we want to underline and recognize the international leadership in their sector of the speakers, for their magnificent contributions, in which they stood out, the vision of strategic and business consultancies, as well as the strategies of large energy companies, industrial services companies and leading international engineering firms. For this reason, we convey our most sincere thanks to all of them: Antonio Héctor Alvarez (Técnicas Reunidas), Enrique Fernández (Repsol), Juan Carlos Latasa (IDOM), Rafael Moreno (BCG), Enrique Rolán (Technip), Jorge Sos (BP), Josep María Torres (Navec) and Montserrat Varas (Ghenova).
The speakers of each session deepened on their presentations topics during the two round tables of debate, answering interesting questions from the audience and the moderators. Finally, Almudena Martín (Revista oilgas), in addition to moderating the second-round table, made a splendid summary of the day, highlighting the most significant issues of it.
