It is increasingly evident that we are not only living an era of change, but that we are witnessing a change of era. How it could not be otherwise the working models are changing rapidly. Companies are changing, and workers are hiring, too. With the aspiration of the work for all the life more and more forgotten, the selection of personnel frequently goes by hiring “freelancers” with good technical preparation and with a lot of motivation and enthusiasm. The best proof of this is the data of a recent study published by the association Freelancers Union [PDF], which shows that 36% of professionals in the US (57.3 million) worked in 2017 on their own, and they are expected to be the largest work force (51%) in the US in 2027.
The new employment model is the “freelancer”, which is an ideal solution for not capitalizing talent in a single company, so that corporations can count on qualified personnel depending on the type of project, in a flexible way, without the need to have them hired full time. Hiring “freelancers” for specific jobs, offers the possibility of reaching the deadlines in the most efficient way, being able to count with the necessary time of experts, depending on the demand of the project. The possibility of having an ideal professional for a job, at a given time, also gives the possibility of evaluating if the objectives and deadlines have been met, etc.,. Small and medium-sized companies have led the boom of the “freelancer”, but now large companies are also entering and playing a more important role.
