Carbonate reservoirs are estimated to contain around half of the total oil and gas reserves in the world. Exploitation of these reservoirs is specifically challenging. The principle objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of improving oil recovery from a fractured tight carbonate reservoir by spontaneous and forced imbibition of a compatible low salinity water (LSW).
