Alfonso has been a top-level executive at Repsol for more than 36 years in different positions, both in Process Plants (Refineries) and in Corporate areas.

In his experience of 21 years in Refineries he has assumed extensive responsibilities in technical and management positions (engineering, maintenance, security … ) and in 15 years in Headquarters creating and directing functions with a global scope such as PurchasingandStrategicSupplyManagementofgoodsandservices, Organizationand Innovation and Information Systems (IT).

Main achievements

  • Leadership of the Repsol Transformation project following the acquisition in May 2015 of the Canadian company Talisman , with the aim of organizationally and culturally evolving into a new company focused on efficiency, simplification and productivity.
  • Restructuring and management of the IT area adapting it to the impact of digital technology and the need for quality of service, availability and risks of cybersecurity
  • Direction of the Organization area , responsible for proposing the structure and organizational solutions, in permanent contact and relationship with the Executive Committee
  • Creation and management of the Innovation and Improvement function at Repsol , promoting internal entrepreneurship and the culture of efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Creation and direction of the purchasing and strategic supply management function in 2001 after the acquisition of YPF (€ 12,000 M / year, 1. 400 people in more than 20 countries )
  • High executive positions and responsible for technological and management changes in maintenance, engineering and industrial safety areas in the Cartagena and Tarragona Refineries (Spain).
