This work displayed the effectiveness of hydraulic fracturing over the production behavior and learnt lesson obtained from the first treatment performed in the giant North Monagas field of Venezuela, March 1994. The treatment was done in MUC 28 well. After treatment, the well has kept a production profile of 4000 bopd without any asphaltene plugging problems during these last 3 years.
