Tight carbonate core plugs were analyzed by high resolution micro CT scan and confocal microscopy. This combined technique allows high-precision identification of the geometrical and topological characteristics of the 3D pore system and rock matrix. Petrophysical properties obtained from this digital-rock technique were compared with laboratory SCAL measurements and an overall satisfactory match was obtained. Digital rock petrophysics (DRP) has the potential to improve the quality of tight carbonate reservoir studies in a time-effective manner.
