Despite the simple structure of ethylene, polyethylene is a complex material with a great variety of grades, as well as its different production processes. Polyethylene production has increased rapidly to become the plastic material with the highest production capacity in the world. In this paper we analyze the commercial processes of polyethylene production, whose versatility currently allows a wide range of products manufactured according to the needs.
