In spite of the fact that there has been a growing focus on QRA over the past 30 years, there is still a lack of a common frame of reference for many terms and elements of QRA, and even on what constitutes a QRA. This paper intends to clarify this confusion, and to elaborate on what is an adequate, proper QRA, emphasizing on its benefits and role in the context of an informed risk based decision taking.
